Golf Day – Maps Maponyane

#TheBursaryNetwork

“Education is not only a ladder of opportunity but an investment in our future.” – Ed Markey.

Maps Maponyane sees education as vital to one’s future and to emphasise this, he is a Director of #bursarynetwork to do his part in helping the youth of South Africa to get a chance to further their education.

How it works:

Many students would give anything to get the right education, but funding for such a future does not exist. This causes many to stop dreaming, as their chance to study is impossible.

#BursaryNetwork is there to help students by funding their education. Students register on the website and describe a bit more about themselves. Companies or the general public are freely invited to support these students achieve their dreams and create a fantastic future for them by selecting a student (s) of your choice and financially contributing any amount you can to help them pay for their studies.

The BursaryNetwork is a way to help talented people to afford an education and move on to a career. A chance to study is often all someone deserving need to create a future.

Golf Day

Maps hosted the Maps Maponyane Golf Invitational, an exciting golf day at Pearl Valley, to raise funds for The BursaryNetwork. 21 December 2020 was full of fun, challenges and activities and was attended by golfers from all over South Africa.

The day kickstarted with an exciting 18 hole golf game which was enjoyed in fourballs. Various fun challenges surprised them on the various holes including ‘The Marshmallow Challenge’ and canvas-painting.

The Marshmallow Challenge was hosted by Sugarlean on the 6th hole. This was technically an “Extra shot” given to every player to take out all frustration or to practice that swing by each hitting giant marshmallow. The longest marshmallow driver won the prize which was a hamper full of Sugarlean’s amazing sweets and a voucher for a great experience at Gary Rom. Another fun activity was painting, where each player had to add their mark on a canvas to create an unique artwork which was auctioned the evening.

They day was ended with awards, raffle prizes, and an auction in aid of Bursary network in Pearl Valley’s conference room where guests enjoyed a delicious dinner where everyone enjoyed a break from the sun and wind which graced them on the course during the day.

Winners were spoiled prizes from TaylorMade, Samsung, Elegance, Glenmorangie, and many more.

The night ended in big success, and the best part is it was all for a good cause. What a better reason to celebrate. Congratulations on a great initiative in aid of #bursarynetwork Maps Maponyane, and well done to everyone involved in ensuring a successful event.
